Krugman e la politica

Asking  policy maker to give the answer to the economic depression is not a good idea, in my opinion. During the last century strong political responses, like communism, fascism o nationalism, where a real catastrophe. The same if you think about today's strong  political proposal, like Tea Party . In the same time our systems are too complex for one structured political response to be effective. In my opinion it could be possible make an analogy with Iraqi war, where the effective response to an overwhelming military force has been the human bomb or IED, both unexpected and very old way to respond to a new threat.

yes, leave all the answers to the MARKET. It sure has helped a lot during the last 5 years. There is no such a thing as a natural economy. It is all bout relationships between classes of people (i.e. politics).

Io vorrei che si sviluppasse creatività e passione: iniziativa politica e non politici, perchè i politici non possono avere una risposta.

I never spoke about market response, and the sense is totally different if not opposed. I want just say that Roosevelt and Johnson were aligned with the zeitgeist, while, now, there is not zeitgeist for a political leader to be aligned to.

Provo a spiegarmi meglio: se la politica ha espresso, sia a destra che a sinistra, grandi movimenti antipolitica, lo zeitgeist è antipolitica e come fa l'antipolitica a esprimere soluzioni politiche?

I grandi movimenti politici dell'800 e 900 avevano alla base un motivato movimento sindsacale e di amancipazione che hanno raggiunto il loro scopo ed esaurito così la spinta propulsiva.
La democrazia durante i periodi di depressione è stata sempre messa in discussione, anche ora .
